2011 Inspiration Award Recipient

Georgia Solkov Jack has worked hard over the past 11 years to unify our school community. She has participated in her own children’s schools in a variety of leadership roles, including being instrumental in starting the PTA and an after school care program at Roosevelt School.  In 2005, Georgia began organizing quarterly round-table meetings for PTO/PTA school leaders at each school. This was the first effort in the District to bring all the schools together to discuss and collaborate on issues.

Georgia went on to become President of the RCEF after the parcel tax failed in 2006. She was instrumental in raising the Foundation’s visibility, bringing in new volunteers, and engaging the community to help fund new activities and compensate for severe District funding cuts. With the RCEF Board she set a 5-year goal of raising a half million dollars — which was reached last year, right on schedule!

In 2009 Georgia successfully chaired the Save Our School Music campaign and in her “Teacher Pat” way, encouraged the whole community to take ownership of helping to fund our children’s music education. Georgia is a force to be reckoned with and an invaluable asset to our community.
