2012 Inspiration Award Recipient

Debra Adler and her husband Glen have raised their three children in Redwood City. Their two youngest children are currently in both the elementary and high school districts.

As a parent, Debra has been very involved as a volunteer in the schools that her two daughters attend, starting with Roosevelt Elementary when her older daughter started there 11 years ago. At Roosevelt, Debra helped develop greater parent participation as the president of the PTA. She also became involved with the PTA District 17 chapter for, and worked to develop volunteerism at, many schools' sites in the Redwood City area. In addition to Roosevelt, Debra became active at Unidos, the Adelante PTO, when her youngest daughter attended that school. In 2007, Debrah helped to found SEPTAR, the Special Education PTA, Redwood City.

In 2012, Debra was president of the Kennedy Middle School Site Council and was a member of the Woodside High School Shared Decision Making Committee, which brings together both the WHS site council and the school staff, faculty and student leadership committee into one body.
